Ticket policies

  • Buy early! Tickets historically sell out before events start and there are limited tickets sold for each event.

  • You will not receive a physical ticket. Bring your proof of purchase with you to your first winery stop and you will be given a wine glass and festival passport. Bring these with you to every winery, they will act as your “ticket”.

  • Tickets are final sale. No refunds or exchanges.

  • Tickets for the August wine-tasting tour include one visit at each participating winery. Get your passport stamped at all the wineries you visit. If you have 8 stamps or more, leave it at your last stop and you will be entered to wine a 12 bottle case of wine! One from each of the participating wineries.

  • Your tasting glass and passport are required at every winery. These are your tickets for the event and must be shown together upon entry.

  • Passports are uniquely numbered, non-transferrable and are assigned one per person. Any misuse, mis-representation or duplication of proof of purchase or passport could result in your ticket being revoked.

  • Most wineries will allow minors on-site during a wine tasting. Please check with each winery ahead of your visit to ensure you are aware of their policies for children - and pets!

  • All wineries serve “tasting pours,” which are not full glasses of wine. You don’t need to swallow every drop poured. Take the opportunity to master the fine art of spitting. If you don’t like to spit, feel free to sip and savour then pour out the rest of your glass.

  • Taste responsibly and make a plan to get home safely. Use one of our sponsor transportation companies. Stay overnight at a local hotel. Take a taxi. Assign a designated driver. Walk. Just don’t drink and drive.

  • Reservations are required at several of the participating wineries, walkins will be accepted on a first come first serve basis and space for your party is not guaranteed without a booking. Seating times begin promptly. Seating for latecomers is not guaranteed and money will not be refunded. Please check with each winery about their late policies.

  • Cowichan Valley Wine Festival does not accept liability for tickets and passports lost or misplaced after they are issued. Refunds, exchanges, and replacement passports will not be granted.

  • We do our best to make everything perfect, but event details are subject to change without notice and without refund.

  • Please refrain from using scented perfume, cologne, aftershave and hairspray. The noses, palates and wines will thank you.

  • Dress code: wineries have no dress codes but we encourage you to dress to impress.

  • When making winery reservations for your tasting tour, include the number of children, your designated driver and any non-ticketholders in your party in your reservation.

  • By purchasing a ticket you agree your likeness or image may be captured by photographer, videographer or news outlet and you agree that your image or likeness becomes the property of Cowichan Wineries Society and Media Octopus for use in advertising, marketing and public relations.
