You’ve never seen wine country like this

Sundrenched rolling hills?

Well, not exactly….

Situated 45 minutes north of Victoria is Cowichan, a region renowned for its natural beauty, culture, friendly locals, and agricultural potential. The favourable weather and naturally rich soil have made Cowichan famous for its agricultural bounty, and its internationally acclaimed wineries.

We are the Cowichan Wineries Society, a non-profit collective of Cowichan land-based wineries promoting this multi-award winning wine region, educating locals and visitors about the history of the vineyards and the families who operate them, Cowichan’s designation as a sub-GI region, the sustainability of Cowichan wineries, the local industry and wine-making practices.

Our stories are told through the tastings and events held at our wineries, and through the annual Cowichan Valley Wine Festival.

We invite you to take a journey through Cowichan and discover what makes this place so special. You can participate in the annual Cowichan Valley Wine Festival held each August. Or take a self-guided wine tour using our Winery Tasting Island Style map available at any participating winery, or print your own copy. While you’re here, stay a while and enjoy Cowichan. The most down-to-earth place on Earth.
